Sensing and deep listening for your marketing

In today’s Musings on Marketing and Magic I talk about a couple of qualities that empaths and highly sensitives have and that they can leverage in their marketing efforts.

As empath or highly sensitive, you can often feel what is going on for others, what they need or want. This can be a real challenge in everyday life because it can be overwhelming to feel others needs and wants as if they were your own. But if you’ve learned to hold your energetic boundaries and are able to distinguish between your own emotions and that of others, it can be a real gift to utilize in your marketing efforts.

Use your sensing capabilities to relate to others in your marketing

The ability to feel beyond the façade of people can help you to truly relate to them and ask the right questions to build a connection, make them feel understood and determine whether your services are a good fit for them.

It also helps you develop your offering, because based on what you feel is needed by your clients, you can build products and programs that address these needs.

Leverage deep listening skill for connection building

The second quality you can leverage for your business goes hand in hand with your sensing capability and it is your ability to deeply listen. As empaths and highly sensitive people, we have an incredible ability to connect with others, to truly see and hear the other person; it is something that we naturally do, so it doesn’t feel like a big deal, but at a time where people may sit right next to each other and communicate with each other by sending text messages back and forth, this is huge! Many people these days feel completely disconnected, lonely, and invisible. Giving them a sense of truly being seen and heard is a gift.

I remember being in a sales conversation once with a coach who wanted me to purchase her program and I was interested in getting support in her area of expertise. But not once in those 30 minutes did I feel truly seen and heard and instead felt like I had been put into a box and was being talked at.

Have you ever gotten feedback from your clients that they feel completely seen and heard by you? I certainly have and it’s a quality that you can not only utilize in the delivery of your services, but also in your marketing activities. People CRAVE true connection and you can deeply listen to them not only during your services but as part of your marketing, whether you do it online or in person.

How do you integrate your sensing and deep listening skills into your marketing?

Until next time – be magical!
